In the Timing of the Lord

May 23, 2016

Dear Familia,
It is always such a blessing to hear from you all! And know what is going on at home! I hope you all enjoy your last 2 weeks of school!

The weeks seem to go by faster and faster, but it has been a great week!

Today we had a talent show with the sisters and senior couples of the Visitors' Center. Which was hilarious because the majority of the talents were little skits!

The most funniest thing that happened was when we went to go visit a new investigator that I found while we were on exchanges a few weeks ago. As we walk up to the door I misjudged my strength and the solidity of the door so I just banged on the door and it sounded like the police pounding it down. Inside I could hear someone swear and walk to the door. As it opens, it is a man shirtless in short shorts covered in tattoos who answers it, and because there was only a small amount of room on the porch I was standing by myself about 6 inches away eye level with his skull covered chest while my companion stood at the bottom of the steps. I was taken so off guard I didn't even know how to respond! Thankfully we go by twos and my companion could save me out of this awkward situation! But all is well! He said he would be willing to meet with us as we meet with David, our investigator we were trying to find! :)

This week as I was studying in the Book of Mormon on faith I learned that sometimes faith in Jesus Christ is our plan, and we can't really do anything more! We have to be willing to take what we know even if it is only that God loves us because we are His children and follow the Spirit for the rest then we will be able to do all that the Lord requires of us! And it is when we have faith in Jesus Christ, that the miracles take place in our lives! I know that is so true because that happened this week!

We have been working to find more investigators to teach, and it amazes me how Heavenly Father provides! At the beginning of the week we went to go visit a former investigator, Esperanza, that I have found in the records of our area book. It was about 4 months ago that I felt like we should try to pass by her apartment, but we always seem to pass by later at night. So on Tuesday we tried earlier in the afternoon. We knocked on the door and she opened the door, but was on the phone and asked that we come back in 15 minutes15 minutes later we knocked again and she opened the door and let us in! We talked to her and it had been almost 2 years since they had missionaries in their home and she told us that she and her husband have been trying to raise their children the best they can but that they were missing something! While we were talking she mentioned how Hermana Romano was the missionary that she got along well with, little did she know that we had just met Hermana Romano who moved back to Mesa, after 4 years, a few days before! She asked that we come back later when all of her family was home! Friday we were able to go back with Hermana Romano! It was so good! The only hitch in OUR plans with them is that they are moving to another part of the mission later this week, but it is okay because it is according to the plan of the Lord!

Another miracle was on Thursday we went to go teach one of our investigators in an apartment where we meet with almost everyone, but never at the same time. It is 2 brothers and their 2 uncles and a friend, which one of the uncles is a member of the church. The 2 brothers just recently moved from Mexico to work. Well we planned to meet with Hilberto, the nonmember uncle who was the man who remembered the conversation 3 months later, but found Fernando one of the brothers. As we were talking about his life and some of his goals, he said one of them is to be baptized! He was going to be baptized in Mexico but something happened and it couldn't happen, but he still has that desire!

Yesterday we met Carlos who was walking out of some apartments we teach in. It turns out that he just moved from Mexico as well, and that he was a preacher there! But he always wanted to know why members of the Church were always so happy! He has studied so many religions, and is willing to learn more! He is moving to my old area this Saturday, but we should be able to meet with him before then and help him with the move! Wow!

Heavenly Father definitely has a plan for every single person! We just have to be willing to have our plan change to meet His in order to find the greatest happiness in this life and the life to come! I know that Heavenly Father will show us His plan if we are willing to act!

I hope you all have a great week and as you are looking for what you should do next, I invite you to get on your knees and pray and be willing to act on the answer that comes! I love you all so much! Thank you for all of your love and support!

Con amor,
Hermana Hart
